Our Fall Kick-off event this year will be a social at Axel’s Bonfire Grill at 850 Grand Avenue in St. Paul, where we have had events several times in the past. This is a great time for law students to meet the lawyers and make some great connections! All are welcome.
The annual National CLS Conference, will be in Newport Beach, California from October 26-29. Go to the CLS national website and click on the picture with the heading “Discovering Joy in the Law” for information, and to access the registration materials. Register soon and reserve your hotel room before they are gone. This is a great and life-changing conference. Talk to Ted Landwehr, our president, Anthony Bushnell, our national board representative, or Paul Baertschi, to hear of our experiences and why we keep going back.
Save the date of Wednesday, January 24, 2018 for our annual meeting, probably a breakfast meeting, but we will let you know as soon as arrangements are made. Let us know if you would like to serve on our Board of Directors. We currently meet on the second Monday of the month during most months and have options for people to call in.
The second annual Midwest Regional Retreat for CLS is scheduled for February 2-4, 2018 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. This is a great opportunity to meet with the lawyers in the Chicago area, who are very influential in CLS and are a smart and fun-loving bunch! Last year, Board member Tom Borash, Anthony Bushnell and family, and Paul Baertschi attended. In spite of a lack of snow, it was great fun and we learned a lot.
Quarterly Fellowship Luncheon: We are having our quarterly fellowship luncheon on Friday, April 28 at noon at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 720-13th Ave S., Minneapolis, MN 55415 in Room 205. Recent St. Thomas Law grad Tim LaCroix will lead us in a devotion, but there is no set program after that. This will be a time to connect with other lawyers and law students for some fellowship and encouragement.

Review of Supreme Court Religious Liberty Cases
The Christian Legal Societyof Minnesota is pleased to present a review of the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent cases on the First Amendment and religious liberty, and practical tips for lawyers dealing with religious liberty issues at the local level.
